North Wind

North Wind comprise flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. We share a passion for music and performance and play a wide variety of music ranging from baroque through to contemporary.We have performed regularly together since 1999 in a variety of venues, primarily in the North of England.

As well as concerts, we have also played for weddings, memorial services, car launchings, art exhibitions and formal dinners. Our programmes are devised individually to provide a variety of musical styles for each occasion.

St Bartholomew's Church, Newbiggin


We received a warm welcome for our afternoon concert - the last in St Bartholomew's very successful Summer series.
The programme included Danzi G minor quintet, Agay's Five Easy dances, a selection of movements from the Capriol Suite, Sullivan Suite, Salut d'amour and Bobby Shaftoe - an arrangement by Newbiggin's very own composer/arranger Derek Hobbs.
Sparkling wine and multi variety kit-kat contributed to a pleasant, sociable interval .
