North Wind

North Wind comprise flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. We share a passion for music and performance and play a wide variety of music ranging from baroque through to contemporary.We have performed regularly together since 1999 in a variety of venues, primarily in the North of England.

As well as concerts, we have also played for weddings, memorial services, car launchings, art exhibitions and formal dinners. Our programmes are devised individually to provide a variety of musical styles for each occasion.

The Church of Saint Ann, Newcastle


The fine Church of Saint Ann provided the perfect venue for a concert in aid of the Congo Children Trust.
Clifford Lantaff (pictured), principal harpist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, delighted the audience with Hindemith Sonata for Harp, Faure's Impromptu opus 86 and the Britten Suite for Harpe, opus 83.
North Wind performed three pieces from Walton's Facade (with Robin playing woodblock in the Popular Song), Reicha Quintet in Eb and Jim Parker's Mississippi Five.
