North Wind

North Wind comprise flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. We share a passion for music and performance and play a wide variety of music ranging from baroque through to contemporary.We have performed regularly together since 1999 in a variety of venues, primarily in the North of England.

As well as concerts, we have also played for weddings, memorial services, car launchings, art exhibitions and formal dinners. Our programmes are devised individually to provide a variety of musical styles for each occasion.

Holy Saviour's Church Tynemouth

Wind and Song  was the apt title for a joint concert with Colla Voce Chamber Choir.
The quintet played Paul Patterson's Westerly Winds and Farkas' Early Hungarian Dances.
Joint items with the choir, arranged by Chris Clinch, were Corpus Christi Carol, Faure's Pavane and Parry's I was Glad

Soiree for Room for You

By invitation only, North Wind presented an evening of music for Quintet and Sextet.
Medaglia, Belle Epoque en Sud-America was followed by Patterson's Westerly Winds. After the interval Mary spoke about our chosen charity for this evening (£435 was raised for Room for You).
Dave's brother, Charlie, joined the quintet enabling us to play the sextet Mladi by Janacek and Ben's arrangement of Gershwin's Three Preludes.
